The Residential Child Care Project has long been recognized as a leader in terms of developing techniques that keep our most vulnerable childrenand those who care for themsafe and in showing how these techniques work in the real world, says Christopher Wildeman, Policy Analysis and Management, and director of the BCTR. As a multidisciplinary research hub with an international reach, Paul Fleming, the Taylor Family Director, comments, Cornells Society for the Humanities has a long, recognized history of experimenting with new ideas and paradigms, questioning established traditions, and charting new directions in humanities research and theory. For example, the Society recently received a million-dollar grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to launch Rural Humanities, an experimental initiative in public and engaged humanitiesranging from public-facing research to collaborative projects co-created with community partners. The Feil BMRI pursues a combined research and teaching mission, with a commitment to bridging the translational gap between research and clinical settings.
The thing thats so exciting about this grant is that it shows what a research leader the Residential Child Care Project is,and it provides them with an even larger platform for showing practitioners what the best research indicates and generating even more excellent research..
